Senior Process Engineer

Hatley Engineering is looking for a contract senior process engineer to join our team and provide technical support and leadership to our company based in Saskatchewan. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of processing systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in uranium processing. You will also ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory standards.  The role can be executed remotely from your home office; however, since most of the work is focussed in uranium, potash, rare earth, and base metal industries of western Canada occasional travel to Saskatchewan will be required.


To be successful in this role you should have: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related field

  • A professional engineer (P.Eng.) designation in a Canadian province/territory or eligibility in Canada

  • 10+ years of experience in uranium processing

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Willingness to travel to site as required

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will:

  • Evaluate and optimize mill design, production and cost performance

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior mill engineers and other client staff

  • Coordinate with other departments such as geology, mining, maintenance and finance

  • Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to management and stakeholders

  • Conduct site visits and audits to monitor and improve mill operations

  • Identify and implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
