Embracing Change
Made a tough decision to embrace change and move ahead with the latest in EV technology. After waiting a year our F-150 Lightning arrived and it was well worth the wait! The only thing that I was able to choose was the colour and the extended battery (500 km range), the final configuration and final model/trim level was a mystery to both myself and the automotive dealer. Does it drive well? Absolutely, well balanced and handles great in sport mode.
Thinking back 100 years, we’ve come a long way from the 1923 Model TT (truck version); however, Ford flirted with petrol/electric hybrids and even all electric vehicles back then. The price of a Model T in 1923 was $364 dollars ($6,252 in today’s dollars) and trucks were about double in price at around $600 dollars and over 246,000 trucks were made in 1923. The F-150 Lightning is a lot more money and the numbers produced will only be approximately 80,000 to 150,000 (11% to 21%) out of 700,000 trucks produced in the USA
